how much will it cost?
My session fee is $135. I provide superbills for my clients so that they can submit to their insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
will our sessions be confidential?
Yes, with some limits. Based on licensing laws, I am a mandated reporter and am obligated to report in certain instances. This would include imminent harm to yourself or others, or minor/elder abuse and having means to carry out harm. Other than that, mums the word.
why does the state I live in matter?
I can only legally provide therapy for clients in states that I am licensed in. I am currently licensed in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
do you only provide telehealth therapy?
I provide telehealth services, which is video-based therapy to clients living throughout Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. All you need is a smartphone or computer with video capability and internet access, along with a quiet, secure area for your sessions.
I also offer in-person sessions at my office in Carrollton, Georgia.
I don’t have insurance. what are my options?
If you don’t have insurance, you can opt for private pay, which is $135 per session. I also have a limited number of sliding scale spots that vary in cost, dependent on need. Feel free to email me about my sliding scale availability.
why do I have to do a consultation call? what should I expect?
Simply put, the consultation is a vibe check. I want to make sure that we click, and we have schedules and expectations that align. I tell people to estimate the telehealth call will take in between 15-20 minutes.
I will ask some simple questions, such as:
What state do you live in?
What type of insurance do you have?
What is your availability like for appointments?
What prompted you to reach out to me?
Have you ever been in therapy before? What was that experience like?
Feel free to prepare questions of your own. These are some of the questions I am frequently asked:
How much will therapy cost?
I am a out of network/private pay provider. My rate is $135 per session, and I provide superbills for clients that have out of network benefits. I also provide a limited number of sliding scale spots as I am able.
Are you available in the evening or weekends?
I am not available in the evening or weekends for sessions. I currently offer my services from 8am-2pm, Monday through Thursday.
What techniques or modalities do you use?
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) most of the time. The modality boils down to six main tenets: Defusion, Contact with the Present Moment, Acceptance, Self-as-context, Values, and Committed Action. Very simply, the modality encourages you to be present with your experiences, open up, and do what matters, in accordance with your values.
I also use EMDR, Brainspotting, and parts work (often called IFS or internal family systems) as additional tools for those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and a myriad of other situations that happen over the course of a lifetime. These processes typically help people dig deeper and reprocess situations in the past, so that they can move forward.
Do you work with people that aren’t diagnosed with ADHD/autism?
I work with many clients who are not formally diagnosed with autism or ADHD. I respect self-diagnosis and the lived experiences of my clients. I do take on a small number of clients who are dealing with complex trauma. My clinical focus and caseload remain focused on ADHD/autistic women.
Do you work with members of the LGBTQIA+ community?
YES. I warmly welcome those who are members of the LGBTQIA community.
Are you a Christian therapist?
No. I am strictly a secular/nonreligious provider.
At the end of the call, I usually ask if you would like to move forward with scheduling or if you would prefer to think about your decision.
What’s next?
Taking the first step towards finding additional support can be overwhelming. You may not see this now, but your resiliency is inherent. Reaching out to find help is brave because it is saying what I know isn’t working anymore. You are deciding to make a change, and that is scary for every single person. I am here to walk alongside you, providing you with compassionate support.
